Job Title: Part-time Marketing and Communications Specialist

 

About Anna and Mind Body Paddle:

Anna Levesque is the preeminent leader and original pioneer for empowering women in whitewater kayaking. She is the author of Yoga for Paddling,  the host of The Discomfort Zone Podcast and the founder of Girls at Play, now Mind Body Paddle. Anna is also a certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor, an ERYT 500 yoga teacher, and an American Canoe Association Instructor Trainer Educator.

Through Mind Body Paddle, Anna offers her clients mental agility coaching, private whitewater kayak instruction, female-group whitewater kayak instructional clinics, instructor training for both whitewater kayaking and stand up paddleboarding, and international kayaking retreats. Anna also hosts a subscription based community for women, and guided Ayurvedic group cleanses twice per year.

She inspires and coaches her clients, using whitewater kayaking as the ultimate metaphor, on the mental agility and self-leadership required to face challenges, and follow their passions with courage and confidence.

About the job:

The Marketing and Communications Specialist works closely with Anna to create marketing & value content that inspires and empowers her audience, builds relationships, grows Anna’s following (social media and email list), drives registration into her paddling and online programs, and grows her podcast.

This role is a great opportunity to bring your social media management, digital marketing and communications experience to Mind Body Paddle’s needs, and continue to grow and develop your skill sets.

Expected duties: 

  • Website updates as needed
  •  Marketing newsletters (Crafting and sending, weekly, monthly, quarterly, on-demand)
  • Social channels – Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and Youtube
    • Schedule and publish consistently on all social media platforms with the goal of increasing following, building trust in thought leadership, and converting to sales.
    •  Real-time content creation and posting during retreats, trips and instruction. 
    • Create and maintain a library of aspirational, well-crafted marketing assets including short and long form video. Anna provides raw video footage to work with.
    • Use opt-in offers to grow Anna’s mailing list.
  • Mind Body Paddle Community – Manage subscriptions, create and schedule weekly / monthly content.
  • Data and metrics management 
      • Email campaigns
      • Metrics reporting for social media and website
      • Manage client lists
      • Manage newsletter / email templates
  • Outreach for public speaking opportunities and guest appearances on podcasts
  • Administrative support:
    • Meet with Anna  once per week to discuss marketing strategy.
    • Timely and accurate digital communication with clients when Anna is in the field.
    • Attend and assist live with communications logistics for Anna’s online programs & monthly webinars. 
    • Create and maintain well detailed standard operating procedures, programs notes, analytics tracking, content calendars, note keeping, and files organization. 
  • Other tasks and duties associated with marketing and communications that may come up, including implementation of new ideas/projects to meet key performance results.

The ideal candidate has the following experience, skills and qualifications:

    • Previous Marketing Experience
    • Previous Social Media Management Experience
    • Strong Copywriting Skills 
    • Proficiency using Canva
    • Video editing 
    • Photography 
    • High proficiency in Google Suites- including Sheets
    • Competency in Google Analytics
    • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time

Hours, compensation and location: 

20 hours/week, remote work. Must have ability to work some evenings (monthly webinars at 7 pm eastern, and online program zoom calls when needed), post natively  3-5x  per week in the mornings.  

Starting salary:  $25/ hour 

Potential for (not guaranteed) travel opportunities on paddling trips in the US, Canada and Costa Rica with photo experience.
